Our aim
Our aim is to unlock the full potential of the Scottish onshore wind sector, drive long-term investment, and support Scotland and the wider UK to achieve energy security, lower bills and net zero through the development of one of the lowest-cost and easy-to-deploy renewable technologies.
The onshore wind sector in Scotland has played a pivotal role in helping the country to decarbonise its energy system delivering more than 10 GW of operational capacity to date. The sector makes a significant contribution to growth with an economic output of £12bn that supports around 12,000 jobs.
Our members
The group includes Cubico Sustainable Investments, Low Carbon, GreenPower International, Muirhall Energy, Brockwell Energy, Belltown Power, Koehler Renewable Energy, Galileo Empower, Voltalia, Renewco Power, Wind2, EDP and Invenergy .
Together, we have an estimated pipeline of around 6 GW of onshore wind in development, that if built, can play a crucial role supporting climate targets by powering the equivalent of nearly 4 million households in Scotland with clean electricity, creating thousands of high-quality Scottish jobs and driving economic growth.
